Koto Tuo is one of sub-districts in IV Koto. It is located in Agam, West Sumatera. It is near from Bukittinggi, one of interesting city in West Sumatera. It is about 20 minutes from Bukittinggi by car. it is about 2,hours 30 minutes if you are from Padang, the capital of West Sumatera. It is located in mountain slope.
The weather is cold in Koto Tuo. The weather is not like in Padang. In the morning, it is pretty cold. In the afternoon, it is not hot, but it is not as hot as in Padang. At night, the weather is pretty cold. You need jacket and blanket for sleeping.
Koto Tuo has beautiful landscape. We can see the Singgalang mountain from Koto Tuo. There are many trees on there. So, it make the weather is cold. There are many rice fields too on there because many people working as a farmer. The house is seems like Rumah Gadang. The river is clean. The water is cold because it is from mountain.
There is a big mosque in Koto Tuo. People call it “Al-Mubarak”. It has a tower in front of the mosque. But, because of the earthquake, the tower has fallen down. If the holyday, many people pray in there because many visitor come to Koto Tuo.
So, Koto Tuo is a great hometown to visit. You will not feel hot like in Padang. You can see beautiful landscape, one of them is Singgalang mountain. You can come to one of big mosque in Agam, Al-Mubarak. Do you want to visit Koto Tuo ?
